Use this dialog box to supply any tool and/or material information that may be missing.
This dialog box is displayed, for example, when importing an APT file to create a new operation. The APT file format does not contain all of the information SURFCAM maintains in the tool change and cutter records. The tool and material you select will be used to fill in any missing information. For an APT file, the dialog will be displayed for each CUTTER/… line in the file.
Tool Type
Select the type of tool.
Tool
Displayed is the description of the currently selected tool. The tool reference number is displayed on the button beside. To choose another tool, select the button and the tool library dialog box will be displayed for your selection.
Material
Displayed is the description of the currently selected material. The material reference number is displayed on the button beside. To choose another material, select the button and the material library dialog box will be displayed for your selection.
Tool Diameter
Displays the total diameter of the tool (for example, as read from the APT file). You may change the diameter if you so desire.
Tool Tip Radius
Displays the tool tip radius (for example, as read from the APT file). You may change the tip radius if you so desire.
Tip Radius will not be used if it is a lathe tool.
