The list box displays inline commands for the SPost Generic post processor. The commands which appear in the list are contained within the INCIText.txt\Surfxx folder. This is a plain text file and additional commands may be added or commands changed as suits the needs of the user. Select the command you wish to inline.

A comment line beneath the list box shows the purpose of the currently selected command. The comment may include the following additional information that pertains to its use:

(M) -The command is for a mill post processor.

(L) - The command is for a lathe post processor.

(SW) - The command is for a Software Cycle.

(HW) - The command is for a Hardware Cycle.

(5Axis) - The command is for 5 Axis machines.

(4Axis) - The command is for 4 Axis machines.

The dialog box displays options specific to the command selected.

A minor keyword appears with options separated by a - character, as an example, IPM-IPR. You should enter or select one of the keywords in the combo box, either IPM or IPR. If only one option appears, it should be entered unless it is enclosed within brackets [], in which case it is optional. Keywords are capitalized. Other symbols appear in small case, for example, plane-NOW signifies either a previously defined plane label or the keyword NOW may be entered.

Numerical value options are indicated in lower case, for example, x. If the value is optional, it is enclosed in brackets, [x]. Often a group of symbols will be optional. In this case the first symbol in the group begins with a [ and the last closes with a ]. For example, [XAXIS,x1,x2] in a command, you should either enter XAXIS and the values for x1 and x2, or leave all of the three edit boxes empty. Do not enter the bracket in the edit or combo box.

If this dialog is displayed while creating an operation, you can choose where to inline the text. This can be inserted before the tool change, after the tool change, or at the end of the generated toolpath. If this dialog is displayed while editing an operation, these options are not available; the inline statement is inserted at the current editing position.

Editing The INCIText.txt Command File

The following rules need to be applied if you add or change commands:

  1. Commands begin with the major word followed by a / (slash) separator character.

  2. Parameters to the command are separated by comma character(s). It is then important to remember not to use a comma in other places, like in the comment.

  3. A list of minor words as a parameter begin with the @ lead-in character. The minor keywords are separated with the - (dash) character.

  4. Integer parameters begin with the # (sharp) lead-in character.

  5. Floating point parameters begin with the $ (dollar) character.

  6. The comment displayed when the command is selected begins with the ! (bang) character. The comment should be at the end of the command.

  7. Optional parameters or groups of parameters may be enclosed within [brackets]. This is to indicate to the user that the parameter may not always be required.

Lead-in characters are not displayed in the dialog box. Brackets are displayed in the field prompts, but not in the command or combo boxes. Do not use spaces or tabs between any of the command parameters. Follow examples for the commands contained within the file.
