The High Feed Rate value controls the rate of the moves that take place between engagement with the material. After the tool leaves the material, the rate changes to the High Feed Rate. This feed rate change takes place when the tool reaches the Engagement Clearance distance. Then the tool moves at High Feed Rate to the next cut location. Before the tool engages the material again the feed rate changes back to the normal Feed Rate. This feed rate change also takes place when the tool reaches the Engagement Clearance distance.
The illustrations shows the High Feed Rate moves at the lower left of the tool path in bold. The arrows indicate the Engagement Clearance distance, where the High Feed Rate changes to the normal Feed Rate.
