Vector Menu

The Vector menu appears when you click Create > Vector to create a vector. You may use this vector when you chain elements. See Select Chain > Vector.

The Vector menu also appears when you need to indicate a point and a direction. For example, click Create > Surface > Extrude, or Create > Surface > Revolution.

Tool Path appears when you click Create > Vector. Create a vector by chaining a profile. The prompt reads "Select contour(s) to be chained, then 'Done'." Next the prompt reads "Click inside a pocket." The new vector points to the side you click.

Keyboard appears when you click Create > Surface > Extrude. SURFCAM displays the Vector Keyin dialog box so you can select the X, Y, or Z axis as the vector or define your own axis.

The Select Point menu appears. Select the starting and ending location. The ending location determines the direction.

Create a vector at the endpoint of an element. The vector direction is tangent at the endpoint

Select a point, then enter the angle to create the vector.

Click the endpoint of an element, and then click either side of the element to define the direction. A vector appears at the endpoint, perpendicular to the element.
