Analyze Menu

Use the Analyze menu to display coordinate information about elements, locations and distances on the screen.

Values displayed in Windows-type dialog boxes can be copied by pressing CTRL+C, then pasted into a different dialog box—for example, into an NC Menu dialog box—by pressing CTRL+V.

When you analyze an entity, you do not generally need to close the resulting pop-up window before choosing to analyze another entity. You can even choose another command from the Analyze menu and continue to analyze other entities without closing the pop-up window.

You can also select certain commands from the Main menu, keeping the Analyze dialog box open for subsequent copy and paste functions.

Angle

SURFCAM will display a pop-up window showing the value of the True Angle, the CView Angle and the Current View angle.

Distance

Display the distance between any two locations selected using the Select Point menu.

Min / Max

Analyze the distance between two surfaces or splines.

Elements

Display detailed information about any single element.

Location

Display the X, Y, and Z coordinates of a specified location.

Tangency

Tangency measures the angle between the tangents 1) to the two surfaces at corresponding points on their edges, 2) to the two splines at their endpoints, or 3) to the spline at its end point and the surface at a point on its edge closest to the end point of the spline. Click Tangency. The prompt asks you to select the first and then the second surface edge or spline. If you select two surface edges, the Tangency dialog box appears.

If you select two spline end points or a spline end point and a surface edge, a pop-up window appears and displays the angle value between the two tangents.

Show the measurement of the angle where two surfaces/splines meet.

Surface Points

Display a pop-up window evaluating points based upon their distance from a surface.

Curvature

Display a pop-up window showing the minimum and maximum radius, or curvature, across a defined grid of points.
