Connect to SURFCAM. Set the desired axis in the Align Plane Settings dialog of the Options menu. To begin the digitizing session, select the Digitize menu item in SURFCAM. Place the digitizer tip at the desired location. Press and hold down the primary button, then move the digitizer tip to the desired location and orientation. When the angle between the alignment plane and the current orientation of the tip falls within the specified tolerance, a point will be digitized. Release the primary button, and then move to the next point to be digitized if the point is acceptable. Otherwise, press the secondary button to delete the point. The digitizing session is terminated when another menu item in SURFCAM is selected.
