The Options Menu accesses the settings of the application. The upper section of the menu accesses the basic parameters of the FaroArm unit and the communications settings of the serial port. The middle section of the menu accesses the settings and defined axes and planes for the digitizing modes and the filters. The lower section of the menu toggles the various features of the Faro application.

General Configuration

This menu item activates the General Configuration

Probe Tip Selection

This menu item activates the Probe Tip Selection

Probe Tip Calibration (USB interface only)

Use this to calibrate a new probe. See Probe Tip Calibration.

Communications (serial interface only)

This menu item brings up the Communications dialog box for the serial port settings, stopping the data stream if the program is currently digitizing.

Always On Top

The main window of the application can be set to be permanently in the foreground (even if inactive) by checking this menu item. This allows the position readout to be seen when running SURFCAM. A check mark beside this item indicates that the application has been set to be permanently in the foreground.

Sounds on

Check this option to hear audio feedback whenever a point is digitized.

AutoStart

If AutoStart is enabled, the application can attempt to connect to SURFCAM and start digitizing immediately when it is first executed.
