Color

CTRL+O

 

The box shows the current color used to draw elements. The number of the color is indicated if you have text labels ON.

To change the color, click the Color button

Views/CViews

CTRL+V

 

The number of the view or "display view" from which you are observe a drawing. View represents your line of vision when you observe the drawing.

Set Parent/Child View

CTRL+V

 

Click the Set Parent/Child View button to make the current view relative to the current CView. Click the button again to make the view relative to the World coordinate system again.

CViews/Views

CTRL+C

 

The number of the "construction view" or CView used to create elements. The CView is the position and direction of the local coordinate system.

Layers

CTRL+L

 

 

The number displayed is the number of the layer used to store elements.

Click the Layer button to display the Layers dialog box.

Click this button to display the model in wireframe.

Click this button to display the model shaded with wireframe.

CTRL+A toggles between Shaded and Wireframe.

 

Click this button to display the model shaded.

World Coordinates

View Coordinates

 

When you enter the coordinates of a point, the World dialog box is displayed if the button is set to World.

When you enter the coordinates of a point, the Construction View dialog box is displayed if the button is set to Construction View.

Click the Coord button to toggle between the two settings.

CTRL+ALT+M * toggles Masking ON and OFF.

CTRL+M displays the Mask Selection Settings dialog box.

The Masking function is a method to determine which elements are selectable.

If ON is displayed, some elements are masked. You cannot select the masked elements.

If OFF is displayed, elements are NOT masked. All elements are selectable.

Click the mask button to toggle between the two settings.

Click the arrow to display the Mask Selection Settings dialog box.

  • * If no element or color is masked, the Mask Selection Settings dialog box is displayed when you press the CTRL+ALT+M.

The Depth parameter tells SURFCAM the Z coordinate of the entities you create with the Sketch command on the Select Point menu.

To change the depth value, click the Depth button.

Click the down arrow to choose the current line type. New elements adopt the current line type.
