Click File > Open, then choose Involute from the Files of Type pull-down. Choose an .inv file, such as default.inv, set the dialog values and click OK. SURFCAM creates a NURB spline in the shape of the defined involute.
Start Radius
This is the radius of the circle used to create the involute. See the Involute Video Illustration.
Start Angle
This is the angle where the involute meets the circle of the specified Start Radius. The following illustration shows a Start Angle of 45.
Wrap Angle
This value determines the number of times the involute wraps around the circle to form the spline. The video illustration shows a Wrap Angle of 720, which is two revolutions.
Direction
Set the Direction to Clockwise (CW) or Counter-Clockwise (CCW).
Center X Position, Y Position, Z Position
These coordinates determine the center of the circle used to create the involute.
