Use Append to add a stored file to the file that is on the screen. All entities of the file, even the layers and the views, are added to the current file .
If both files have a layer number in common, the drawings of both files appear on that layer number. The current file keeps the name.
To prevent this condition, follow these steps.
Click the Layer button on the Status bar to display the Layers dialog box.
Click the New button to create new layers. Select the layer numbers that do not overlap with the layers in the other file.
Select a new layer. Then click the Move Geom button to move the drawings from an old layer to the new layer. SURFCAM prompts you to select the geometry to move
To move the elements from a layer, that layer must be visible and selectable. If you make that layer the only visible layer, click the Visible button to move the geometry to the new layer.
Repeat the above step until no layers overlap.
Then delete the old layers.
The layers in both files keep their numbers, names and contents.
