Radius of the cylinder
Enter the radius of the cylinder.
Reference point
The reference point is a point on the surface of the cylinder.
A base
point on the curve that you wrap is mapped onto this reference point.
Map the tangent at the base point of the wrap curve to the tangent
at the reference point of the cylinder.
The rest of the points are mapped onto the cylinder.
There are two ways to locate the reference point on the cylinder.
Specified by coordinates
Specify the coordinates of the reference point later.
Specified by angle
The reference point is rotated around the circumference of the cylinder through the angle you enter. Later you enter the coordinates of the start point.
Angle at the reference point
Enter an angle. After the process is complete, look at the image of the wrapped curve. From a view normal to the cylinder, you see that the image is tilted at this angle at the reference point on the cylinder.
Tolerance
The tolerance value controls how close the wrapped curve must keep to the circumference of the cylinder, as seen in a cylinder cross section.
Do you want to display the cylinder?
Select Yes to display a portion of the cylinder.
See the Wrap Curve Example.
