A Cutter Intersect spline is a spline that is offset from the intersection of two surfaces.
Select a mill tool and enter the values for the Tool Diameter, the Tool Tip Radius, and the Stock To Leave field. SURFCAM calculates the offset distance.
Use the Cutter Intersect splines when you create the cut boundaries so that you can limit the area of the surface cut. Normally you use the Cutter Intersect spline to contain the tool to prevent a cut to an adjacent surface.
SURFCAM creates the spline on the arrow sides of the intersecting surfaces.
To prevent a gouge, technicians recommend that you use the size of the actual tool to create the Cutter Intersect splines.
