A model of a simplified thermal insulator is chosen to familiarize users with STAR-CCM+'s radiation modeling capabilities.
This tutorial illustrates various STAR-CCM+ facilities for simulating problems involving gray thermal radiation, heat conduction and conjugate heat transfer.
The starting point for the tutorial is a three-dimensional hexahedral grid representing two glass plates within a rectangular enclosure containing air, as shown in the Figure below. Built with pro-STAR, the grid includes interfaces between the glass plates and surrounding air. The imported file contains information about the geometry, mesh, boundaries and materials present in the problem.
