Importing View Factors
STAR-CCM+ can either calculate view factors using the Viewfactor calculator or import view factors from a file created in an external package. The imported view factor file formats supported are:
case.nvfs files output by the Fastrac view factor calculation sub-system in pro-STAR V4.02.case.vfs files generated by STAR-CD V4.0X surface-to-surface radiation calculations.
In this tutorial the view factors are imported from a case.vfs file.
To import the view factors, select from the File menu.- In the Open dialog, locate and select the view factor file
fin.vfs supplied in the doc/tutorials/radiativeFin/ directory of your installation.
- Click Open.
The Output window should produce no error messages and will state that the view factors are imported successfully.
