Setting Initial Conditions and Reference Values
The direction and magnitude of the gravity vector and the reference density for the simulation are set via the Reference Values node. We will start with the acceleration force in the negative y-direction.
- Select the Continua > Air > Reference Values > Gravity node.

- In the Properties window, set the Value property to
0,-9.81.

- Within the same Reference Values node, select the Reference Density node.

- Set the Value property to
1.27588 kg/m^3.

The fluid region will be initialized to a temperature of 293 K.
- Select the Continua > Air > Initial Conditions > Static Temperature > Constant node.

- In the Properties window, set the Value property to
293 K.

This completes the setup for the fluid continuum. The solid continuum can now be defined.
The solid region will be initialized to a temperature of 343 K, which will be close to its final expected temperature.
- Select the Continua > Aluminum Alloy > Initial Conditions > Static Temperature > Constant node.

- In the Properties window, set the Value property to
343 K.

- Save the simulation.
