Setting up the Rigid Body Motion Model

Most of the models required in this case have already been selected (see Setting up the Models in the Moving Reference Frames tutorial) and so do not need to be specified again. However, we need to switch off the moving reference frames model and switch on the rigid body motion model instead. To do this, we also need to change the analysis type to unsteady.

Right-click on the Continua > Physics 1 node and select item Select models...

In the Physics Model Selection dialog:

Deselect the Moving Reference Frame and Steady models from the Enabled Physics Models group box.

Select Rigid Body Motion from the Motion group box and Implicit Unsteady from the Time group box.

The Physics Model Selection dialog should look as shown below when you are done.

Click Close.

Save the simulation by clicking the

(Save) button.

All material properties plus initial and boundary conditions are to be kept the same so we can proceed to Setting Solver Parameters and Stopping Criteria.
