Visualizing the Results
At the end of the run, the methane mass fraction contour plot should look as shown below.
To plot the velocity vectors after 2.0 seconds:
- Right-click on the Scenes node and select
- Change the view to look down the -Z axis with the +Y axis pointing upwards.
- Select the Displayers > Vector 1 > Parts node and, in the Properties window, add all boundaries (but not the streamlines) to the Parts list.

The resulting vector plot should look as shown below.
To examine the results after 0.5 s:
- Select from the File menu and load the
dilPipeUnsteady@5.00e-01.sim file.

In the new simulation tree:
- Open the Scenes node and double-click on the Scalar Scene 1 node to open the methane mass fraction contour plot in the Graphics window.

To view the velocity vectors after 0.5 s, we could create a new vector scene as was done earlier. However, it is simpler to copy the vector scene from one simulation to another, as follows:
- Open the dilPipeUnsteady@2.00e+00 window and right-click on the Vector Scene 1 node.
- Select from the menu.

- Return to the simulation tree in the dilPipeUnsteady@5.00e-01 window and right-click on the Scenes node.
- Select from the menu.

A new scene named Copy of Vector Scene 1 will appear in the tree and in the Graphics window.
Note how the varying inlet velocity has changed the velocity field between
and
