Comparing Results
We will now open the simulation file from the Isotropic Porous Media Tutorial and create an identical scalar plot for it.
- Select and open the
isotropicPorousMedia.sim file. Its simulation tree will be displayed in the Explorer pane.

- Return to the orthotropicPorousMedia window and right-click on the Scalar Scene 1 node
- Select from the menu and change the node name to
Scalar Scene (Orthotropic)
- Right-click on the Scalar Scene (Orthotropic) node and select .

- Open the isotropicPorousMedia window and right-click on the Scenes node. Select from the menu.

A scene named Copy of Scalar Scene (Orthotropic) will be created.
To display the two scenes side-by-side for comparison:
- Click on the Scalar Scene (Isotropic) tab at the top of the Graphics window and drag it to the left-hand side. Release the mouse button when you see a red box marking out a strip at the edge of the window, as shown below.

The two scalar scenes will now be displayed side-by-side.
- Click on the bar between them and drag it to the right so that they have roughly the same width.

The effect of the porosity properties on the velocity magnitude profiles at the outlet will now be clear.
Save the simulation.
