Setting Boundary Conditions and Values

The default boundary conditions on the wall and outlet boundaries are suitable for this analysis so the only user specifications required are on the inlet boundary. A fixed velocity of 20 m/s and appropriate turbulence parameters need to be specified there.

Select the Regions > Fluid > Boundaries > inlet > Physics Conditions > Turbulence Specification node.

Set the Method property to Intensity + Length Scale.

The boundary values for turbulence can now be set.

Within the same inlet node, select the Physics Values > Turbulence Intensity > Constant node.

Set the Value property to 0.05.

Open the Turbulence Length Scale node and select the Constant node

Set the Value property to 0.005 m

Open the Velocity Magnitude node and select the Constant node

Set the Value property to 20 m/s.

The boundary conditions are now set. Save the simulation.
