Renaming the Boundaries

Renaming the boundaries makes the mesh setup process easier by identifying the main surfaces that we will apply properties to. The following names and types will be used:

Boundary Name
New Name
Boundary Type

Boundary 1

Symmetry Plane

Boundary 1 2

Wall

Boundary 1 3

Inlet

Velocity Inlet

Boundary 1 7

Valve Wall

Boundary 1 12

Outlet

Pressure Outlet

To rename a boundary and set the type, do the following:

When the Type is changed, the boundary will change color in the scene display. The boundary node icon in the object tree will also change to represent the new boundary type.

Setting the boundary type at this stage is important as it affects which boundaries have prism layers next to them and which do not. All boundary types other than walls indicate that no prism layers will be generated next to them by default.

The completed list of updated boundaries is shown below:

The model should also now look like this:

The feature curves can now be generated.
