Monitoring Simulation Progress

STAR-CCM+ can dynamically monitor virtually any quantity while the solution develops. The process involves:

setting up a report that defines the quantity of interest and the region parts that will be monitored;

defining a monitor based on that report, which controls the update frequency and normalization characteristics; and

setting up an X-Y plot based on that monitor.

For this case, force will be monitored on the body in the x-direction of the flow, which effectively is the total drag force. This process will start with the report definition.
