Training Guide
This part of the documentation shows you how to use STAR-CCM+ for various applications in a step-by-step format with recommendations for setup, initialization and steps of the solution process specific to the application. The following tutorials provide assistance to new users for working with most features of the code:
- an introduction to STAR-CCM+ that presents the concepts and use of STAR-CCM+ in a transonic-flow analysis;
- a set of simple flow tutorials illustrating some basic STAR-CCM+ capabilities and comparing the performance of different types of mesh when used to solve the same problem;
- a set of porous media tutorials illustrating various aspects of analyzing flow in media possessing different porous properties;
- a set of multi-phase tutorials describing various free-surface flow problems, including capillary effects;
- a set of heat transfer tutorials that describe a multi-region conjugate heat transfer analysis, including radiation effects;
- a set of combustion tutorials that use the EBU and adiabatic PPDF models to simulate propane combustion;
- a radiation tutorial that describes a conjugate heat transfer analysis with gray thermal radiation;
The other parts of the documentation cover the following:
- How to generate or import meshes and work with them
- Modeling -- the concepts, theory and implementation details of the physics models
- Preparation and procedures for running a STAR-CCM+ simulation
- Analyzing results through visualization and plotting
