Creating a Volume Shape

Volume shapes can be created at any point prior to starting the mesh generation process once a surface mesh has been imported. You can make as many volume shapes as you want using any combination of the allowable shapes.

In the simulation tree, select Tools > Volume Shapes > New Shape. In the pop-up menu that appears, four different selections will be listed:

Select the option that corresponds with the shape you want to create. These different selections are shown below.

Once the volume shape has been created, a node with the shape name will appear in the Volume Shapes node. To re-edit the properties of this node, right-click on the node name and select Edit volume shape in Current Scene from the pop-up menu.

The appropriate create volume dialog will appear in the plot display window, allowing you to either manually or graphically edit the parameters controlling the volume shape dimensions and location.

The volume shape can also be edited, deleted or renamed.
