Setting the Solar Radiation Model Properties

This section deals with the parameters required for solving fluid flows in the presence of solar radiation.

The Solar Radiation Model is fully closed by defining the sun direction vector in a specified co-ordinate system, the direct solar flux and the diffuse solar flux.

The direct solar flux defines the radiative energy received directly from the sun along the specified direction vector. The diffuse flux represents the solar radiative energy coming from the surrounding environment as a result of scattering in the atmosphere or reflections from objects which are not modeled.

These properties may be specified in the Properties window when the Solar Radiation node is selected.
