Administrative Image from Command Prompt

You can create an administrative image using SolidWorks Administrative Director or from the command prompt. The command prompt allows you to customize the installation.

To create an administrative image from the command prompt:

  1. Insert Disk 1 into the computer drive.

  2. Open a Command Prompt window (in Windows, click Start, Run, type cmd, and click OK) and enter:

msiexec /a <Msi_ path>

where Msi_path, is the path and filename of the .msi file for your operating system and language. The SolidWorks .msi file name is:

<language>_<arch>_SolidWorks.msi

where <language> can be:

Czech
Chinese
Chinese-Simplified
French
German
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Polish
Portuguese-Brazilian
Russian
Spanish

and <arch> can be i386 or x64.

For example:

msiexec /a F:\swwi\data\English_i386_SolidWorks.msi

  1. In SolidWorks Setup, follow the on-screen instructions.
