You can Find features of a specific type that satisfy specified parameter conditions.

To use the Find utility:

  1. Click Find Features on the Utilities toolbar, or click Utilities, Find.

The Find/Modify/Suppress/Simplify dialog box appears with the Find tab active.

  2. Under Find what, do the following:

  1. To find features based on certain parameter conditions (for example, you can find all holes greater than 10mm in diameter), click Parameters.

A dialog box appears that is specific to the selected feature type. For details on how to specify find parameters for individual features, see Specifying Find Parameters.

If you do not specify any parameter values, all features of the specified type are found.

NOTE: There are no parameters to select when finding mirror features. All types of mirror features are found when selected.

  2. Select the Suppressed check box to find suppressed features, or select the Unsuppressed check box to find unsuppressed features. You can select more than one check box.

  3. Click Find Now to start the Find operation.

At the start of the Find operation, a list with the found features appears. The list also shows the details of individual found features such as name, type, and parameters. A status bar at the bottom of the list tracks the operation progress.

After Find is complete, you can sort the results by clicking any column header in the list. Click the column header again to toggle between ascending and descending order.

  4. Click Stop to terminate Find at any time while it is in progress. Find stops after the current feature is processed.

  5. Click New Search to start a new Find operation.

The current list of features in the list box is cleared, and the list closes. You can then specify new parameters for search, and click Find Now to launch the new search.

  6. To modify your found features, click the Modify tab. To suppress them, click the Suppress tab. The list of features found remains intact in all three tabs. To suppress the features and create a derived configuration of the simplified part, click the Simplify tab.
