Translating - Translating followers are perpendicular to the motion of the cam.
Inclined - Inclined followers are not perpendicular to the motion of the cam.
Swing Trail or Swing Lead - Swing followers swing about a pivot point. To determine if the follower is a trailing or leading, compare the follower to the pivot point. If the follower trails the pivot point as shown at right, it is a Swing Trail follower.
