Covering objects can be added to bundle segments in the harness drawing. Add coverings to one segment at a time. The length of the segment is used to calculate the amount of covering for the Harness Bill of Materials. Each covering item you add is given a unique name to identify it for highlighting or editing.

Requirements:

See Creating a Harness Library.

To add covering to a harness segment:

  1. In the harness drawing document, click Routing, Electrical, Harness, Edit, Covering.

  2. In the graphics area, select a bundle segment.

  3. In the PropertyManager, under Properties:

    1. Click Create/Edit.

You can repeat steps b and c to add more than one covering to a bundle segment.

A covering instance appears under Covering. If the covering library object you select has a color or linestyle property, the segment appearance updates accordingly.

  1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add coverings to other segments, then click .

If you want to add a covering to only a portion of a segment, use Split Segment to replace one segment with two shorter segments, then apply the covering to the desired shorter segment.

To change a covering:

  1. In the harness drawing document, click Routing, Electrical, Harness, Edit, Covering.

  2. In the PropertyManager, under Covering, select a name.

  3. Under Properties, select the name of a covering library object in Library name, then click Create/Edit.

The covering instance updates to use the new library object.

To delete a covering from the harness:

  1. In the harness drawing document, click Routing, Electrical, Harness, Edit, Covering.

  2. In the PropertyManager, under Covering, select a name, then click Delete.

The covering instance is removed from the segment and from the Harness Bill of Materials.
