Connection Point

A Connection Point is a point in a fitting (flange, elbow, electrical connector, and so on) where a routing segment (pipe, tube, or cable) begins or ends. A routing segment can only be generated when at least one end is attached to a connection point. Each fitting part must contain a connection point for each port, positioned where you want the adjoining pipe, tube, or cable to begin or end.

See also Route Point.

To create a Connection Point:

  1. Create a sketch point to use for locating the connection point. The location of the connection point defines the end of the adjoining routing segment.

To create a connection point on a cylindrical feature, select the flat face of the feature. You do not need to create a sketch point first.

  1. Click Create Connection Point art\conpoint.gif (Routing Tools toolbar) or Routing, Routing Tools, Create Connection Point.

  2. Edit properties in the PropertyManager.

  3. Click .
