You can hide components of an assembly drawing behind a plane. This procedure is a quick selection method for Hide/Show Components.

Only those components that are completely behind the plane are hidden.

You can choose the direction to hide and the position of the plane. The X, Y, and Z coordinates of the plane distance are shown in the dialog box.

To hide components behind a plane:

  1. In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click a plane under the view in which you want to hide components and select Hide Behind Plane.

The Hide Behind Plane dialog box appears, and the plane and direction arrow are displayed in all views on the drawing sheet that contain the model.

  2. Change the distance of the plane in the Distance box to move the plane, if necessary.

The X, Y, Z coordinates of the plane appear in the Plane point section, and the plane is displayed in the new location in all the views on the drawing sheet.

  3. Select the Reverse direction check box, if necessary.

  4. Click OK.

To show the components again:

  1. Right-click the view, and select Properties.

The Drawing View Properties dialog box appears.

  2. Select the Hide/Show Components tab.

  3. Select components that you want to show, then press Delete.

  4. Click OK.
