To set options:

  1. Click Options (Standard toolbar) or Tools, Options.

  2. Click Hole Wizard/Toolbox.

  1. Click Configure.

If the SolidWorks Toolbox add-in is active you can also do one of the following:

  • Click Toolbox, Configure.

  • On the Design Library tab of the Task Pane, select Toolbox in the upper pane, right-click in the lower pane, and select Configure.

The Configure Data dialog box appears.

  1. On the Settings tab, set the following options.

User Access Control

An administrator creates a password and sets permissions for various Toolbox functions. Other users can view, but not modify, the restricted functions without the administrative password.

You enter a secret question when you add a password. If you forget your password, the application prompts you with your secret question. If you answer correctly, you are given the password.

Settings:

Specify how settings are applied in a multi-user environment.

Smart Fasteners:

Specify how Smart Fasteners settings are applied in a multi-user environment.

Files

Specify what happens when you drag a part from the Toolbox Browser into an assembly:

Writing to read-only documents

Specify how SolidWorks Toolbox interacts with read-only documents.

Part numbers

You can create more than one configuration of a part in the SolidWorks Toolbox database with the same part number if the parts are geometrically equal. For example, you might want to change the value of a custom property but retain the same part number in the SolidWorks Toolbox database because geometry is unchanged.
