Linear Sketch Patterns

To create a linear sketch pattern:

  1. In an open sketch, click Linear Sketch Pattern (Sketch toolbar) or Tools, Sketch Tools, Linear Pattern.

  2. In the PropertyManager, under Entities to Pattern, select the sketch entities to pattern .

If you select an edge from a part or an assembly to define Direction 1 for X-axis, Direction 2 for the Y-axis is activated. If you do not select Direction 1 first, you must manually select Direction 2 to activate it.

Part edges define X and Y axis

  1. Under Direction 1 (along the X-axis):

    1. Click Reverse Direction .

    2. Set Distance between sketch entities.

    3. Select Add dimension to display a dimension between entities.

    4. Set Number of sketch entities.

    5. Set Angle at which to pattern the sketch entities.

You can also change the Spacing and Angle by dragging the selection point in the pattern preview.

  1. To set a linear pattern for Direction 2 (along the Y-axis):

    1. Set Number of pattern instances.

    2. Click Reverse Direction .

    3. Set Distance between sketch entities.

    4. Select Add dimension to display a dimension between entities.

    5. Set Angle at which to pattern the sketch entities.

    6. Select Add angle dimension between axes.

  1. Click Instances to Skip, and with the pointer , select one or more pattern instances to skip .

  1. Click .

Circular Sketch Patterns

To create circular sketch patterns:

  1. In an open sketch, click Circular Sketch Pattern (Sketch toolbar) or Tools, Sketch Tools, Circular Pattern.

  2. In the PropertyManager, under Entities to Pattern, select the sketch entities to pattern .

  3. Under Parameters:

    1.  Click Reverse Direction .

    2. In the graphics area, select a point to be the center of the circular pattern.

Circular sketch patterns use the sketch origin as the default center.

Center X , Center Y , and Arc Angle are values generated by the location of the circular pattern's center. You can also edit each of these values independently.

    1. Set Number of pattern instances.

    2. Set Spacing to specify the total number of degrees in the pattern.

    3. Set Radius to specify the radius of the pattern.

    4. Arc Angle . to specify the angle that is measured from the center of the selected entities to the center point or vertex of the pattern.

  1. Click Instances to Skip   to highlight the pattern instances in the graphics area. With the pointer , select one or more pattern instances to skip .

  2. Click .
