Enables you to sketch multiple 2D lines. For each 2D line you sketch, you can select different combinations of settings under Orientation, Options, or Parameters.
The four line orientations include:
With the click-drag method, sketch a line in any direction until you release the pointer.
With the click-click method, sketch a line in any direction, and continue sketching other lines in any direction, until you double-click.
Sketch a horizontal line until you release the pointer.
Sketch a vertical line until you release the pointer.
Sketch a line at an angle until you release the pointer. The angle is created relative to the horizontal.
All four line orientations under Orientation allow you to select either of the following under Options:
For construction. Creates a construction line.
Infinite length. Creates a line of infinite length that you can later trim.
Appears when you select any orientation except As sketched.
Some selections under Orientation
and Infinite Length under Options override settings for Quick Snaps.
The following Parameters are available with the following Orientation.
Length
. Create
a horizontal or vertical line at that length.
Add dimensions. Select to display the dimension.
Length
. Create
a line at an angle at that length.
Angle
. Create
a line at the angle specified.
Add dimensions. Select to display the dimension.
Once you sketch a line, the Insert
Line PropertyManager changes to the Line
Properties PropertyManager, and you can continue sketching with
the same Orientation. To change
Orientation, Options,
or Parameters, click OK
to return to the Insert
Line PropertyManager.
