You can specify how to list component configurations in a BOM. When multiple configurations of the same component are used in an assembly, there are some additional considerations.

If different components use the same configuration name, and:

 then all configurations appear as a single entry with one item number.

In the part document, you need to perform certain steps to achieve the desired results:

Configurations listed as separate entries with individual item numbers

Configuration names

- or -

Document name

  1. In the ConfigurationManager, right-click the configuration and select Properties.

  2. In the PropertyManager, under Bill of Materials Options, set Part number displayed when used in a bill of materials to:

    • User Specified Name, then type a value for the User Specified Name.

- or -

    • Configuration Name.

- or -

    • Document Name.

  1. Click OK .

  1. In the ConfigurationManager, right-click the configuration and select Properties.

  2. In the Configuration Properties PropertyManager, under Bill of Materials Options, set Part number displayed when used in a bill of materials to User Specified Name.

  3. Type a value for the User Specified Name.

  4. Click OK .

  5. Click anywhere in the bill of materials and click Table Properties in the PropertyManager.

  6. In the Bill of Materials PropertyManager, under Part Configuration Grouping, select Display configurations with the same name as one item.

  7. Click OK .
