A computer name is a unique name used by the network to identify a computer. It is recognized over a domain (a collection of related computers). You can change a computer name only if you are logged on as a member of Administrators or Domain Administrator.
To find your computer name:
Click Microsoft Start
in the Windows toolbar and select Settings
, Control
Panel
.
In the Control
Panel window, select Network
.
In the Network dialog box, under the Identification tab, note the Computer Name.
