A closer look at ownershipAnother engineer on the design team, Bob, is assigned to make changes to a part. Before Bob can check the part out of the Vault, Lin must release ownership because a document must have no owner to be checked out of the Vault.
In the vault view:
Right-click speaker_frame.sldprt and select Release Ownership.
The icon changes
from 
(part owned) to 
(part, not owned).
Right-click in the vault view and select Log out.
Right-click in the vault view and select PDMWorks Login. Log in with user name bob and password bob.
In the graphics area, close the speaker assembly. If a message appears asking whether to save the model, click Yes.
Click Open
(Standard toolbar).
In the Open dialog box:
Click PDMWorks
Workgroup Vault 
on the left.
Expand the Speaker Design project.
Select speaker_frame.sldprt.
Click Check Out Advanced.
In the dialog box, under Save in Folder, browse to Bobs Work Area.
Click Open / Check Out.
The speaker frame opens in SolidWorks and
is checked out of the Vault by Bob. The icon changes to (part owned).
