Applying Load

In this step, you will apply a 4000 Newton force to the upper cylindrical face of the small hole.

The face of the small hole is split by the Split Line command.

To apply the force:

1. Click Next to continue.

2. Select Force and click Next.

3. Type a name for the force, for example, UpwardForce.

4. In the graphics area, click the face shown in the figure.

Use Rotate View to set the appropriate view for selecting the desired face.

Face<1> appears in the selection box.

5. Click Next.

6. Click Normal to a reference plane.

7. In the FeatureManager design tree, click Top.

   Top appears in the Select a reference plane box.

8. Type 4000 as the magnitude of the force and click Next.

   UpwardForce appears in force box and a check mark appears on the Load tab

9. Click Next.

   The Analyze tab appears.
