Analyzing the Modified Part

Since the geometry of the model has changed, you must analyze the modified part to evaluate the results.

To analyze the modified model:

  1. Click COSMOSXpress analysis wizard or Tools, COSMOSXpress to restart COSMOSXpress.

    Note that exclamation marks appear on the Analyze and Results tabs, indicating that you need to reanalyze the part and that the existing results do not belong to the current geometry. Note also that an Update button appears at the lower left corner of the COSMOSXpress window.

  2. Click Update.

    COSMOSXpress begins analyzing the modified part. When the analysis is complete, COSMOSXpress replaces the exclamation marks on the Analyze and Results tabs with check marks . Note that the new minimum factor of safety is listed approximately as 1.48.
