You define a sensor to measure result quantities at a pre-defined set of locations. You define a location by selecting vertices or specifying x, y, and z coordinates. Use sensors with the From Sensors option when probing result plots.
To define a sensor from model vertices:
Click COSMOSWorks,
Sensors or right-click Sensors
in the COSMOS AnalysisManager and select Edit/define.
In the PropertyManager, under Sensor List, click Add to name the new sensor.
Under Selection, select vertices where you want to add sensors.
Click
to save the sensor.
To define a sensor from imported coordinates:
Click COSMOSWorks,
Sensors or right-click Sensors
in the COSMOS AnalysisManager and select Edit/define.
In the PropertyManager, under File Options, click Import to import sensor locations from a *.csv or *.txt file as a new sensor.
Click
to save the sensor.
To define a sensor when probing a model:
In the Probe Result PropertyManager, populate the Results list with nodes or elements.
Under Report
Options, click Save as Sensor
.
In the dialog box, type a name for the sensor and click OK.
