Consider the following example where you want to find contact sets between the red and blue blocks. Vertex A is 2mm from the nearest face of the red component. Vertex B is 8 mm from the nearest face of the red component.
A tentative contact set is found between the components with the following settings:
Select Non-touching faces.
Type a value less than 2mm for Minimum clearance.
Type a value greater than 8mm for Maximum clearance.
A tentative contact set is not found between the components with any of the following settings:
Select Touching faces.
Select Non-touching faces and type a value greater than 2mm for Minimum clearance.
Select Non-touching faces and type a value less than 8mm for Minimum clearance.
