To apply nonuniform pressure normal to a face:

  1. In the COSMOS AnalysisManager tree, right-click the Load/Restraint icon and select Pressure.

The Pressure PropertyManager appears.

  1. Under Pressure Type, click Normal to selected face.

  2. In the graphics area, click the face on which the pressure is applied.

  1. Under Pressure Value, do the following:

    1. Set Units to the desired pressure units.

    2. Type the pressure value in the Pressure value box .

  2. Check the Nonuniform Distribution check box.

  3. Click inside the Select a Coordinate System box then select a coordinate system from the FeatureManager tree.

  1. Type the coefficients of the nonuniform distribution.

  1. Click OK.

To apply nonuniform pressure to a face in a certain direction:

  1. In the COSMOS AnalysisManager tree, right-click the Load/Restraint icon and select Pressure.

The Pressure PropertyManager appears.

  1. Under Type, click Use reference geometry.

  1. Click inside the Faces for Pressure box then select the face to which you want to apply the nonuniform pressure.

  2. Click inside Face, Edge, Plane, Axis for Direction box then select an entity for direction.

  1. Select a pressure component according to the entity you select for direction as follows:

  1. Under Pressure Value, do the following:

    1. Select the pressure Unit .

    2. Type the pressure value in the Pressure value box .

  2. Check Nonuniform Distribution.

  3. Click inside the Select a Coordinate System box then select a coordinate system.

  1. Type the coefficients of the nonuniform distribution and click .

To modify a pressure load:

  1. In the COSMOS AnalysisManager tree, right-click the pressure load you want to modify and select Edit Definition, or double-click the pressure load.

The Pressure PropertyManager appears.

  1. Make the desired changes.
