To apply a uniform force to a face in a certain direction:
In the COSMOS AnalysisManager tree, right-click the Load/Restraint icon and select Force.
The Force PropertyManager appears.
Under Type, click Apply force/moment.
Click inside the Face,
Edge, Plane, Axis for Direction box
, then select
the desired entity for direction.
Click inside the Faces,
Edges, Vertices for Force box
, then select the
face to which the force is applied.
Select the desired Units

Under Force (Per entity), do one of the following:
If you select a plane
or a face
for direction, specify at least one of the following components: Along plane Dir 1
,
Along plane Dir 2
, or Normal to plane
.
If you select an edge,
specify the force value along that edge
.
If you select an axis,
specify at least one of the following components: radial
, circumferential
, or axial
.
Click
.
The software applies uniform force in the specified direction.
To apply uniform force normal to a face:

In the graphics area, click the face to which the force is applied.
Select the force Units

box, type the force value.

To define uniform torque:
In the COSMOS AnalysisManager tree, right-click the Load/Restraint icon and select Force.
The Force PropertyManager appears.
Under Type, click Apply torque.
Click inside the Faces
for Torque box
then select a face.
Click inside the Axis,
Edge, Cylindrical Face for Direction box
then
select an entity for direction.
Select the desired Units
