The List Stress dialog box allows you to list the selected stress component in the active static study.
Active Study. Displays the name of the active study.
Units. Sets the units to be used in the listing.
Selected reference geometry. Lists the selected reference entity with respect to which the selected stress component is to be listed.
Step no. Select the step number at which the listing of stresses is requested. Available only for nonlinear and drop test studies.
List Type.
Node values. Lists nodal stresses.
Element values. Lists element stresses.
List Options. Sets listing options.
Extremes. Check this option to search for extreme values.
Criterion. Sets the criterion for extreme results. Available list options are: Absolute Max, Algebraic Max, and Algebraic Min.
Sort by value. If checked, activates the sorting of the list.
List values within. Sets the range of values to be listed. The default is to list values within 5% tolerance of the extreme value.
From..to... Check this box to specify the desired range of nodes/elements to be searched. Use this option to list values sequentially with node/element numbers. Enter the lowest and the highest node\element numbers.
Location. Sets the option to list the results at the element’s center or at all nodes of the element.
Shell Face. Sets the face (top or bottom) or stress type (bending/membrane) to list. The top and bottom options list total stresses (membrane + bending) at the extreme top/bottom fibers.
Component. Sets the stress component to be searched for extreme values. Available only if Extremes is selected under List Options. The following is a list of available stresses for listing:
SX: Normal stress in the X-direction of the selected reference geometry.
SY: Normal stress in the Y-direction of the selected reference geometry.
SZ: Normal stress in the Z-direction of the selected reference geometry.
TXY: Shear stress in the Y-direction acting in the YZ plane of the selected reference geometry.
TXZ: Shear stress in the Z-direction acting in the YZ plane of the selected reference geometry.
TYZ: Shear stress in the Z-direction acting in the XZ plane of the selected reference geometry.
P1: Normal stress in the first principal direction.
P2: Normal stress in the second principal direction.
P3: Normal stress in the third principal direction.
VON: von Mises stress.
INT: Stress intensity = P1-P3
List Set. Sets the stress component to be listed. Choose to list basic stress components or principal stresses, von Mises stress, and stress intensity. Available only if From is selected under List Options.
To list a stress component with respect to a selected reference geometry:
If needed, create the reference entity that you want to use to list the desired stress component.
In the FeatureManager design tree, select the reference geometry you created in step 1.
In the COSMOS AnalysisManager tree, right-click a results folder and select List Stress.
The List Stress dialog box opens.
Make sure that the reference
entity you selected appears in the Selected
reference geometry box.
Select the desired options as described above and click OK.
The List Results dialog box opens and a list of the selected stress component appears. You can change the display units of the stress by selecting the desired units from the Units menu.
Click Save.
The Save As dialog box opens. You can save the list to an Excel file (*.csv) or as a plain text file (*.txt).
Click Close.
