The Graph dialog box allows you to define 2D graphs of the results of studies with multiple design scenarios.

For example, if you plot von Mises stress and resultant displacements without normalization, the displacement will most likely show as a straight line in the graph. The Normalize option divides each quantity by its maximum value across all sets. The maximum value for each quantity will be 1.0 on the Y-axis. The minimum value will be -1.0.

Location. Sets the location at which the results are desired. You can select the location associated with the Global maximum values calculated by the program across all sets, or you can choose a location that you requested when defining design scenarios. Location is not available for frequency and buckling studies.

Result. Sets the result type.

To graph multiple results at a location:

  1. Right-click the Results folder and select Define Design Scenario Graph.

The Graph dialog box appears.

  1. Click By Set.

  2. Set Type to Multiple Results for a Single Location.

  3. Click Normalized.

  4. Set Location to the desired location.

  5. Use to move a selected result quantity from the Available Results list box to the Graph Results list box. Click to move all result quantities.

  6. Click OK.

To graph a selected result at multiple locations:

  1. Right-click the Results folder and select Define Design Scenario Graph.

The Graph dialog box appears.

  1. Click By Set.

  2. Set Type to Single Result for Multiple Locations.

  3. Set Result to the desired result.

  4. Use to move a selected location from the Available Locations list box to the Graph Locations list box. Click to move all locations.

  5. Click OK.
