The Graph dialog box allows you to define 2D graphs of the results of studies with multiple design scenarios.
Normalized. When plotting multiple results at a single location, different quantities have different ranges that could vary considerably. Normalizing each quantity by its maximum value helps in viewing the trends. Check this box to normalize the results for each component by dividing it by its largest value across the sets.
For example, if you plot von Mises stress and resultant displacements without normalization, the displacement will most likely show as a straight line in the graph. The Normalize option divides each quantity by its maximum value across all sets. The maximum value for each quantity will be 1.0 on the Y-axis. The minimum value will be -1.0.
By Set. When this option is selected, the X-axis represents the set labels. The tick marks on the X-axis are uniformly distributed and labeled Set1, Set2,...etc.
By Parameter. When this option is selected, the X-axis is based on the parameter in the associated field. The tick marks represent the values of the selected parameter for the various sets.
Type. Sets the type of the graph.
Multiple Results for a Single Location. Use this option to graph multiple quantities, for example von Mises, resultant displacements, and equivalent strains in one graph.
Location. Sets the location at which the results are desired. You can select the location associated with the Global maximum values calculated by the program across all sets, or you can choose a location that you requested when defining design scenarios. Location is not available for frequency and buckling studies.
Single Result for Multiple Locations. Use this option to plot a specific quantity versus sets (design scenarios) for multiple locations.
Result. Sets the result type.
Unit. Sets the unit for the result.
Available Results/Locations. Lists the available results if Multiple results for a single location is selected or the available locations if Single result for multiple locations is selected. You can set the units to be used for different result type by selecting the desired quantity and setting the desired unit from the Unit menu.
Graph Results/Locations. Lists the selected current results or locations to be included.
