When two faces come into contact, balanced internal forces develop at contact areas. You can list the internal forces that develop due to contact. Normal and friction forces develop on faces of components with No Penetration, Shrink Fit and Virtual Wall contact types. The software lists the X-, Y-, and Z-components of the specified force on the selected entities and on the entire model as well.

Selection (Face,

. Lists the selected entities.
Update. Updates the results based on the current selected entities.
Contact/Friction force. Lists the forces of the selected entities and the entire model. Select the Force type to be listed.
Normal. Lists the normal force due to contact.
Friction. Lists the friction force due to contact.
Total. Lists total contact force. This total force is the resultant of the Normal and Friction forces calculated at each node of the selected entities.
To list contact/friction forces on a face:
Right-click the Results folder and select List Contact/Friction Force.

In the PropertyManager, set Units
to the desired output units.
In the graphics area, select the desired entities
for Selection (Face, Edge, Vertex)

Click Update.
Under Contact/Friction force, set Force type to Normal, Friction, or Total.
View the results under Contact/Friction force.
