COSMOSMotion allows you to graphically display the reaction forces and moments that act on any part in the motion simulation.

To create an action/reaction moment:

  1. Display the Insert Action-Reaction Force dialog box using one of the following methods:

  2. Select the components to which the moment is going to be applied.

  3. In the Select Location text box, select a vertex, circular edge, or linear edge to define the points at which the moment is applied.

  4. In the Select Direction text box, select an edge or a face to define the axis about which the moment is applied.

  5. Select the Function tab.

  6. Set Function Type to Step, Harmonic, Spline, or Expression. Complete the options for the function.

If you choose Expression, you can use the Function Builder to add Step, Harmonic, or Spline functions. If there is an expression in the Force Expression text box that is not highlighted, the Function Builder adds the new function to the existing expression. If the expression is highlighted, it is replaced by the expression created in the Function Builder. Learn about the Function Builder.

  7. To create the moment and close the dialog box, select Apply.
