COSMOSMotion allows you to check for interference in your design as the parts move. You can check any of the components in your SolidWorks assembly model, regardless of whether a component participates in the motion model.
Using the interference detection capability, you can find any of the following:
All the interferences that occur between the selected components as the assemblies move through a specified range of motion.
The place where the first interference occurs between the selected components. The assembly is moved to the position where the interference occurred.
To initiate the interference check:
From
the Motion menu, select
Check Interference.
OR
Right-click the Motion Model
branch in the Browser and then select Interference
Check.
The Interference Check dialog
box appears.
To select the parts to include in the interference check, select the Select Parts to test text box and then select two or more components from the graphics screen.
Set Start Frame to the motion frame used as the starting position for the interference check.
Set End Frame to the motion frame used as the final position for the interference check.
Increment sets the increment between frames checked.
For example, setting increment to 2 checks every other frame, starting at the frame set in Start Frame.
Select Find
Now to start the interference check.
The list at the bottom of the dialog box shows any interference conditions
detected. The frame, simulation time, parts that caused the interference,
and the volume of the interference detected are listed.
Selecting the Index
number of an interference enables the Details button and the
button. Selecting
Details displays more information about the interference.
Select the
button to zoom in on the location of the interference.
To enable the New Part button, select the Index number of an interference.
If necessary, select Stop to stop the check.
To clear all selections and select new components to check, select New Search.
