Joint limits, also referred to as mate limits, are mapped SolidWorks distance/angle constraints. These mates restrict the movement of a joint to a specific range (for example, an arm is restricted to rotate only between 10 and 70 degrees).

Sensor Function

To monitor the angle or distance limit, COSMOSMotion internally creates a sensor to check if the limit is exceeded during a solve.

Sensor values are monitored at each output frame. If a sensor ends the simulation, the solver will step back to the last frame before that sensor value was exceeded.
