Edit Part Dialog Box

Materials

Select the name of the material to assign to this part. The density is obtained from the material only if the Density Source option is set to Material.

Density Source

Select one of the following:

• Part: The density is obtained from the material property assigned to the part.

• Material:  The density is obtained from the COSMOSMotion materials database. The Materials text box contains the name of the material assigned to the part.

• Custom: The density value is entered directly in the Density text box.

Density

Enter the density of the material. This option is only available if Density Source is set to Custom.

Custom Mass

Select to enter the mass part. Once selected, you can also enter custom values for the part inertia properties below.

Mass Source Part

Select one of the following:

• Part: The part mass properties are obtained from the SolidWorks. These properties are scaled by the density.

• Mass: Displays the mass of the part. You cannot modify this value.

• Edit: Displays a dialog box that allows you to enter the center of mass and inertia axes.

Ixx/Iyy/Izz

Enter the ixx, iyy, and izz inertia value of the part.

CMx/CMy/CMz

Enter the part center of mass properties.

A1x/A1y/A1z
A2x/A2y/A2z
A3x/A3y/A3z

Enter the directions for the three inertia properties.
