Allows you to add friction to a joint. Learn how.

Use Friction

  • If selected, friction is enabled for this joint.

  • If not selected, no friction is used.

Use Materials

  • If selected, the friction coefficient is obtained from the materials database.

  • If not selected, enter the friction coefficient directly.

Material 1

Enter the name of the material assigned to the first part to which the joint is connected.

Material 2

Enter the name of the material assigned to the second part to which the joint is connected.

Coefficient (mu)

Enter the friction coefficient.

Slippery/Sticky

Move this slider to set the friction coefficient from slippery (low mu) to stick (high mu).

Length

Enter the geometric length of the joint.

Height

Enter the geometric height of the joint.

Width

Enter the geometric width of the joint.

Radius

Enter the geometric radius of the joint.

Revert

Causes the entity to revert to the state after the last change or at the start of the edit.

image\ebx_-1624375075.gif Pin - When the pin is in, selecting Apply does not close the dialog box, except when the edited entity is a joint derived from a mate. When the pin is out, the dialog box closes when you select Apply.
